sorry for the n00b question. I personally recorded a video of a high school color guard competition. The music is what was played during their set, it is obviously a recording. I don't know if they purchased rights to use the song in the show or anything, I was a spectator at the show. I uploaded it to youtube to share with people at the school. It's not public, it is set to private/link-only sharing. There is a copyright claim on the video from "the city of prague philharmonic orchestra" for "Main theme from jaws" which matches the music played during the performance. The copyright claim is 'Video cannot be monetized, ad revenue paid to the copyright owner'. I have 3 options, to Erase Song, Replace Song, or Dispute. Or I suppose I can do nothing.I'm not monetizing my channel, but I don't think they should be getting ad revenue from my private video either, if that's how this actually works. I'm not sure if I should bother doing anything with this or not, but it bothers me. Is this how music copyright works these days? Should I dispute and claim I have rights to it? Or should I just ignore it since I'm not monetizing the video anyway? Thanks for the advice! via /r/youtube
